A photo of a suspect has surfaced in connection with the explosion that occurred near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday evening. According to the initial investigation, police have concluded that only Umar was inside the Hyundai i20 car (registration number HR26CE7674) and that he carried out the blast as a suicide bomber. He was a resident of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police investigations indicate that the car had been sold twice. Umar had purchased it about ten days ago from a man living in Faridabad. The probe suggests a clear connection between Faridabad and Pulwama in this blast case.
According to sources, the driver of the car has been identified as Dr. Umar U Nabi, son of Nabi Bhat. He was born on February 24, 1989, and worked at Al-Falah Medical College, Faridabad.
He originally hailed from Koil, Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir). He was reportedly a close associate of Dr. Adil, and both were allegedly part of a group of radicalized doctors active on encrypted Telegram channels.
Umar had completed his MD in Medicine from Government Medical College, Srinagar. He had worked as a Senior Resident at GMC Anantnag before moving to Delhi.
Amid an ongoing crackdown on terrorists, a blast occurred on Monday evening in a Hyundai i20 car parked near the Red Fort Metro Station in the national capital. The explosion ripped through the area, shattering six nearby vehicles and damaging over 20 others.
